Hackers & the Open Source Model
A recent article at PC Advisor complains that Hackers learn from open source. That they do, but one could equally argue that business does too. For that matter, it seems the ironic gist of the article is that business is no match for the distributed, open nature of this model of software development. C'mon guys, lets get off our collective laurels and try harder!!

Rough Talk About RH
Our friend and heir apparent has chosen to use some rough words to talk about the folks over at the popular Linux distro. And although technically I wouldn't quibble with what he says, why not at least use nicer words, considering all that the freebie technology has done for your business over the last half decade.
Red Hat CEO Matthew Szulik suggests that Oracle is feeling the heat because of their recent purchase of JBoss, and IBM has something to say too!

FOSS at the DOD
Many governments around the world have taken a look at, and in many cases begun adopting, and putting in place policies for Open Source software in government. It makes sense in so many ways, public money for software that stays in the public domain, open scrutiny of security, and building on existing libraries instead of reinventing the wheel.
Now the Department of Defense is getting in on the action in a big way.
